Jan Rafaj as the New CEO of BR Group
We are pleased to announce a new addition to our leadership team, as the position of Chief Executive Officer will be filled by Mgr. Jan Rafaj, MBA.
Jan Rafaj joins us from his previous role as Director and Managing Director of Heimstaden Czech, the largest provider of rental housing in the Czech Republic, where he had been serving since 2017. Since May 2023, he has also held the position of President of the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic. In this capacity, he focuses on key areas such as the promotion of Czech final products, digitalization, infrastructure development, the labor market, and the implementation of the Green Deal for Europe.
Jan Rafaj began his career at Válcovny plechu Frýdek-Místek and subsequently spent eleven years in various managerial roles at the metallurgical company ArcelorMittal Ostrava. He graduated from the Faculty of Law at Masaryk University in Brno and earned his MBA at the Prague International Business School.
With Jan Rafaj’s appointment, the Board of Directors of BR Group is also being expanded. In addition to the sole shareholder of BR Group, Mr. Ing. Rudolf Bochenek, MBA, the Board will now include Jan Rafaj and another new member, Mgr. Pavel Říha — an experienced attorney and expert in corporate advisory, acquisitions, sales, and corporate transformations, with 25 years of professional experience. Pavel Říha is also a founding partner of the law firm FORLEX.
These changes reflect the company’s strategy to strengthen its top management and prepare for future challenges in a dynamic business environment.
On his appointment, Jan Rafaj commented:
